IgA Treatment & Omega 3 Fish Oil

IgA nephropathy is a chronic kidney disease. It progresses over 10 to 20 years, and can eventually lead to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). It is caused by deposits of the protein immunoglobulin A (IgA) inside the filters (glomeruli) in the kidney. These deposits over time end up damaging the kidneys leading to a lot of protein in the urine and partial loss of kidney function.

Today, we’re discussing the effective steps one can take to slow down IgA nephropathy. Robert suggests that regardless of whatever care you’re under, there is one supplement you should take. Omega 3s or fish oil is a supplement you can take as they help support healthy inflammation with IgA nephropathy and they help support healthy kidney function.

This isn’t a new discovery and the literature on this actually dates back to the 80s when a lot of nephrologists recommended it. the issue, however, is that all omega 3s or fish oils are not created the same. They’re actually fairly different.

When you’re shopping at your local drug store to buy omega 3s or fish oils, most likely, it is not going to help you as it may not contain those therapeutic parts.

When you shop for omega 3s, look for the EPA dose on the back of the product on the label. This EPA dose will vary and has to be at least 1000mg for therapeutic properties and help support normal kidney function and help support healthy inflammation. If you don’t receive that 1000mg, no matter what omega 3s you take, it will not better your situation.

We also have a product called Kidney Shield which is an Omega 3 and for two pills, it gives you 800mg of the EPA. So, ideally, you’d like to take 3 pills a day in this case.

If you have IgA nephropathy, make sure you get those right doses next time you go looking for fish oil or omega 3s. Most of the ones that stores carry usually have low doses like 60mg to 70mg per pill which is not going to benefit you. This is why you want to make sure you have the right doses.

Getting a high dose of EPA for IgA nephropathy is crucial as it will help support normal kidney function. Every individual with IgA has to start with some Omega 3s for healthier inflammation.
