Kidney Transplant, Medicare and Veterans – Get More Doctors On Your Team!!!

This video uncovers some fascinating research conducted by Nephrology News And Issues in February 2021. The study entails helpful information for veterans with a kidney transplant or going for a kidney transplant.

In the study, the researchers found that veterans who got a kidney transplant using only Medicare had a mortality rate that was 5 times higher in the span of five years. The veterans who used the V.A. system or a mix of V.A. and Medicare had better mortality rates in five years compared to those who only used Medicare.

This is an interesting study as we haven’t come across anything like this before. If you’re a veteran looking to get a kidney transplant, it’s in your best interest to use a mix of the V.A. healthcare system and Medicare. That way, you have more opinions from more doctors to help you with your kidney transplant.
