Tylenol and Curcumin, and Kidney Disease
Acetaminophen often known as Tylenol is said to be one of the most commonly used pain relievers so you should know if it entails any harm to your liver or kidneys. The National Kidney Foundation even recommends acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, as the pain reliever of choice for occasional use in patients that have underlying kidney disease. People have been using Tylenol for about 50 years now and even though they’re considered to be safe enough for kidney disease patients, if you consume too much, it may harm your liver.
In this video, Robert elaborates on the topic and shares his knowledge about the effects of Tylenol and Curcumin on Kidney Disease patients.

How Much Tylenol Should You Take?
The recommended daily maximum is 4 grams per day, which is 8 extra strength Tylenol 500mg or 12 regular 325mg Tylenol tablets. That is the maximum amount of Tylenol you should consider.
Is Tylenol Bad For Your Kidneys?
The short answer no. Tylenol is broken down almost completely by the liver, so the kidneys barely do any of the work and are not affected by it.
Is It Safe To Drink Alcohol?
Alcohol boosts the liver toxicity of acetaminophen. You’ll be placed at a higher risk of liver damage if you consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day while you’re on Tylenol.
Curcumin, another alternative is an active ingredient in the traditional herbal remedy and dietary spice turmeric, has strong anti-inflammatory virtues. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), an inflammatory disease, may lead to end-stage renal disease resulting in dialysis and transplant. Additionally, it is frequently linked with other inflammatory diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disorders. Curcumin is also undergoing clinical trials for various diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, ulcerative colitis, etc. There are several reviews showing that curcumin can modulate enzymes, cytokines, growth factors, receptors, signaling molecules, and reactive oxygen species and thereby positively affect inflammation and oxidative stress.
